🎉 From students showing off their vaquero boots and straw hats to teachers rocking traditional embroidered dresses, floral crowns, and unibrows in honor of Frida Kahlo, our community truly brought the culture to life. We even had appearances from fan favorites like Dora the Explorer with her iconic purple backpack, classic icons like Cantinflas, and bright traditional skirts representing the vibrant colors of Latin America!

Thank you to every student, teacher, and staff member who dressed up, participated, and helped us honor the rich traditions, history, and contributions of the Hispanic community. We are so proud of our school family! 🇲🇽🇨🇷🇨🇺🇵🇷🇭🇳🇨🇱

📱 Personal Communication Devices - State Law Reminder
Texas Education Code Sec. 37.082 establishes statewide expectations regarding student use of personal communication devices during the school day.
To help ensure a focused learning environment, students may not use personal communication devices while on school property during the instructional day. Devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds/headphones, tablets, and similar electronic devices, must remain stored in the student's backpack unless otherwise directed by school staff.
This policy applies to all Cleveland ISD campuses and is designed to:
• 📚 Minimize classroom distractions
• 👩‍🏫 Maximize instructional time
• 🎯 Keep students engaged in learning
• 🏫 Ensure consistency with Texas law

With more than 30 years of experience in public education, Mrs. Turner brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a deep commitment to student success. Throughout her distinguished career serving students and educators in North Forest ISD, Aldine ISD, and Houston ISD, she has built a strong reputation for fostering academic achievement, supporting teachers, and creating positive school cultures where students thrive.

Mrs. Turner believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential through high expectations, meaningful relationships, and strong partnerships between schools and families. Her leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, excellence, and empowering students to become confident, successful learners.

Hey Northside families! 🍎 Get ready to celebrate because the end of the school year is officially here! 🎈

We’ve got a jam-packed schedule of fun and milestones to wrap up an incredible year. Here’s what’s happening at Northside Elementary:

🏃 FIELD DAY (May 11 – May 14)
Our annual tradition of games and laughter is back! Check the flyer for your child's specific grade level time.

  • Pro-Tip: Bring small bills ($1–$3) for snacks and drinks at the PTO concession stand! 🍿🥤

🎓 KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION (May 18 & 19)
Come celebrate our youngest learners as they take their next big step! Graduation times are split by teacher, so double-check the schedule for your student’s ceremony.

🌟 5th GRADE PROMOTIONAL CEREMONY (May 20)
Join us at 2:00 PM in the cafeteria to honor our 5th graders!

  • Attire: Red, black, or white.

  • Capacity: Limited to 2 adults per student. A Zoom link will be provided for those joining us virtually. 💻

🎉 END OF YEAR PARTIES & EARLY RELEASE (May 21)
Let's end the year with a bang! Parties will run throughout the morning by grade level.

  • Reminder: School lets out early at 2:20 PM! 🚌
